We appointed Commanders on the 1st inst; with orders to proceed to Longreach to take in fireworks etc; but understand they still at Deptford as Carpenters only just finished.
Desire you examine what neglect there has been.
Also direct you opine as to the weekly proportion of the Estimate for this years service should be paid to the Navy Treasurer.
