In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Enclosure: Copy of an Order in Council in which the petition of Colonel Thomas Dongan who was expecting to take receipt of the MARGARET Prize in settlement of a debt due to him from the Crown is decribed. The Commissioners for Prizes however have sold her to the Admiralty. Dongan, in responding to a request by the King to organise a contract for freight using the ship has laid out all his money and now faces ruin. Orders are given for the ship to be conveyed to Dongan without further ado, signed John Nicholas.
