Old Bay Line (Baltimore Steam Packet Company) Mail / Jesse G. Johnson.
This booklet provides a history of the Baltimore Steam Packet Company overnight service (nicknamed the Old Bay Line) via a series of articles from Stamps Magazine which were written by Jesse G Johnson between 1957 and 1965. The service operated on Chesapeake Bay primarily between Baltimore, Maryland and Norfolk, Virginia. When it closed in 1962 after 122 years of existence, it was the last surviving overnight steamship passenger and mail service in the United States.
