On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the gun direction officer's position between 31½ and 33½ stations on the centreline on 02 deck level looking forward and to port showing the Barr and Stroud gun direction sight binocular mark 1, serial No. 132 mounted on top of the Rose Brothers (Gainsborough) Ltd G.D.O. sight pedestal No. 100. Telephones, a target gong, intercom loudspeaker and push buttons are mounted on the side and front screens. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.
