On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the Limbo Mk. 10 mortar well between 61½ and 71 stations on 2 deck looking forward and slightly to starboard from 72 station showing No.1 Limbo mortar with No. 2 mortar ahead. Canvas covered inflatable liferafts are in the right foreground. A hose basket and the refuse chute are stowed against the port bulkhead and a canvas awning is over the access hatch to 3 deck. The single 40 mm bofors gun, mainmast and foremast can be seen in the background. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay.
