The photographer is in the power room lobby between 53½ and 55½ stations on the centreline of 1 deck looking forward from the power room doorway showing the hatch down to 2 deck in the foreground. An electric fire and a watertight hatch into the fan compartment are on the right. Against the forward bulkhead are the brow desk, fuse panels, a first aid cabinet and the ventilation system circulating fan and trunking. A transformer is in the port forward corner next to the open lobby door.
