On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 27½ and 31¼ stations on 01 deck looking aft and slightly to starboard from 30 station on the centreline showing the starboard aft bulkhead of the bridge. The door to the starboard bridge wing is on the left and the hatch leading down to 1 deck is in the centre. The chart table with drawers and cupboards under and a shelf above is on the right. An intercom unit, an electric fire, a control panel and a Decca Navigator receiver box are against the aft bulkhead.
