An unidentified man standing akimbo by the mast on board the Burnham-on-Crouch registered passenger carrying lugger Invicta (fl. 1908) in the River Blackwater estuary, Essex. He is wearing an open necked shirt with the sleeves rolled up. The boat is under sail and appears to have a standing lug rig. She has seating along the sides. The Invicta of Burnham-on-Crouch was licensed to carry 20 passengers. The photographer is looking forward from abaft the second thwart. Vertical format. Negatives numbers P75145 and P75146 show the same man on board the Invicta (fl. 1908) but at different times.
