On board the cutter yacht Evadne (1874) on the River Colne, Essex. The photographer is looking aft from the starboard side of the mast showing a man and a woman standing on the after deck of the boat. The woman is wearing a striped top and a hat; the man has a sweater with the sleeves rolled up and is holding a pipe. On the deck in front of them is a seat made from an upturned crate with a floating cushion on it. The crate originally contained 6 dozen packets of Saxa salt. One of the smacks on the left is the Matchless 308CK and the other is dressed overall. Vertical format.
