Deal galleys Our Boys and Undaunted
This image shows a Deal galley close up, bow-on, its stem bearing a piece of timber to the port side at the top end to form a hole to accommodate the boat's bowsprit. Above the stem is stowed a device which may be a skid used to ease the boat's passage up and down Deal's shingle beach. Behind the boat is a pub's sign advertising its wares, but not its name.
