Hastings open boat
A clinker-built open boat some 20ft long is seen resting on timber baulks at the inland edge of Hastings beach, with a car parked at its bow. Two upright fore-and-aft timber structures are fixed to the gunwales, which may be related to controlling fishing nets shot astern. Behind the boat is one of Hastings' tarred weatherboard net lofts. Inland of that building across a narrow road is a terraced building below steep cliffs.
