Hastings luggers
A Hastings lugger regd RX242, some 25ft long, is seen from the port side, beached at Hastings. Both fore- and mizzen masts are stepped vertically, whereas the foremast of the boat regd RX115 in the background is raked forward. The lute-sterned RX242 has a long bowsprit to carry a jib. The bow of the Henry Harris and that of the lugger beached alongside are visible on the right-hand margin of the image.
