Hastings luggers

This negative shows an unnamed clinker-built, lute-sterned Hastings lugger beached with bow facing seawards, behind a winch used for hauling such boats up the beach. The lugger's foremast and bowsprit are not in place. A bracket for a lamp is fixed to the mizzen mast. On the beach behind two men stand in conversation.
