Eastbourne sprat boat

This portrait view of the ca. 25ft lute-sterned clinker-built Eastbourne lugger William and Dorothy regd NN145, beached, is taken from aboard the boat looking towards the stern, with spars and two sweeps laid for-and-aft across three of the boat's thwarts. The mizzen mast is stepped with the mizzen halyard and a single shroud made fast to the port gunwale. The bumkin has been withdrawn, its square-section inboard section end not apparently fastened. There are no separate compartments within the part of the hull which is visible. Just beyond the boat stand two pitch-roofed, two-storey wooden beach sheds.
