Morecambe Bay shrimper SM100 at Newhaven

A Morecambe Bay shrimper regd. SM100 is viewed close up and bow-on in Newhaven harbour, moored aground against pilings with a small naval vessel and a larger steamer behind it. In the background to the left of the shrimper are a tug getting up steam and the bows of what may be a trading schooner or ketch, with harbour cranes beyond. The shrimper's foresail and mainsail are lowered and the bowsprit withdrawn inboard. Decorative carving adorns the sheerstrake either side of the stem.
