Portsmouth fishing boats; two boats
A half-decked, carvel-built fishing boat, regd P42, ca. 20ft LOD, is seen bow-on from above deck level, showing the boat's standing rigging and spars, over which hang drying nets. The bowsprit has been withdrawn and lies along the starboard gunwale. Part of a similar vessel is visible alongside to starboard of P42, while a crane of Fraser & White's quayside coal depot is seen in the backgroound astern. A clinker tender or punt lies at the bow of P42.
