Portsmouth fishing vessels at Portsmouth
A group of seven or more carvel-built, gaff-rigged inshore fishing boats are seen in this negative moored in front of a domed clocktower in Portsmouth harbour, variously showing their starboard and port sides. Many have fishing nets hung to dry from their masts. None have sails laced to their spars. At the left of the image is a partial view of a boat of a different type bearing the name Fleetwing.
