Portsmouth fishing boats
A carvel-built, gaff-rigged fishing boat, the Peter, is seen stern-on in this negative, taken from the foredeck of an adjacent boat moored like the Peter alongside the quay in Portsmouth, with a crane on the left and a floating crane ahead. Protruding from the foredeck of the Peter is what resembles the chimney of a stove, although the practicality of such a fitting is apparently lacking.
