Hastings lugger

The beached Hastings lugger shown from astern in this image is likely to be the same boat shown in negative P76265. Its stern bears no name or registration number, and there is no propeller to indicate auxiliary power. No spars are visible, hence the boat is likely to be laid up. Ahead of it are two tall clapboard fishing huts, and beyond them to the left, a beached clinker-built punt, and houses on Hastings' shore. The concave-curved stern of the main subject is almost square in shape seen stern-on, and the boat's topsides are almost vertical amidships from the waterline up.
