Imperial Order of the Rose, awarded to George Biddell Airy (1801-1892) in 1872. Star: Obverse of badge superimposed on a gold plaque. Six pointed, gold rimmed, white enamel star, each point ball-tipped, superimposed on a circle of roses. the gold centre medallion with the entwined initials: 'P & A' (Pedro and Amelia) surrounded by a blue band inscribed: 'AMOR E FIDELIDADE'. An imperial crown above.
