Acheron (1838)

Scale 1:48. Plan shows the sheer lines, longitudinal half breadth and body plan design drawing for the Hermes class paddle slopp Acheron (1838). The title of the drawing is "A draught prepared for building a steam vessel of 160 H.P. in her Majesty's Dock at Sheerness in compliance with their Lordship's Order of the 18 September 1837". This drawing bears the signature of Sir William Symonds [Surveyor of the Navy 1832-1847] and Sir John Barrow [Second Secretary to the Admiralty 1804-1845].
