Acheron (1838)

Scale 1:48. Plan shows the sheer lines, longitudinal half breadth and body plan for the Hermes class paddle sloop Acheron (1838). The engines and boilers layout are also present on the sheer lines. The title of the drawing is "A draught prepared for building a steam vessel of 160 H.P. in her Majesty's Dock at Sheerness in compliance with their Lordship's Order of the 18 September 1837". A further note on the drawing, dated 19 January 1842 states the plan is to be returned to the Surveyor of the Navy when the vessel is fitted. The plan is torn, cracked and has been previously repaired.
