Car park location

We have five accessible parking bays for disabled visitors in our car park at Park Row (SE10 9NG). Please pre-book, otherwise you can enquire about availability at the car park on the day, but it cannot be guaranteed.

There are also a number of car parks in Greenwich close to all our sites: find a list of Council car parks and locations here.

If you are parking in Greenwich Park, please be aware the park closes at 6pm. Once the park closes, it will not be possible to access vehicles left in the car park until the park reopens the following day.

On arrival

  • Please have your ticket ready to show the ice rink staff when you arrive.
  • Arrive at the Skate Exchange 30-40 minutes before your session time to allow time to put your skates on and store your footwear.
  • Sessions on the ice are up to 45 minutes. The session starts from the time on your ticket.
  • Follow the signage and directions from the staff as you wait for your time to go on the ice.

Children's skate aids

Children’s skate aids are only available to hire onsite at the Queen’s House Ice Rink, subject to availability on the day you visit. They cost £5 each to hire, payable by card only, and this is non-refundable.

Please note skate aids are for skaters up to 120cm only. This is a health and safety rule and there will be no exceptions made.

Safety measures

As an optional safety extra, we will offer free of charge helmets at the rink, subject to availability.

We offer three sizes, inclusive for children, teens, and adults.

L / XL  57 – 59 cm

S/M – 53 – 56 cm

XXS / XS 49 – 52 cm

Please be aware, like skate aids, helmets are limited in numbers. You must pre-book your helmet.

Your ice rink ticket booking confirmation email will include a link to reserve a helmet, subject to availability. You can also book a helmet in person at the Ice Rink Ticket Desk, inside the Queen’s House.

Toilets and facilities

The nearest toilets are situated inside the Queen’s House, a short walk from the Ice Rink. As you can’t go there in your skates, please plan ahead, and visit them on your way to the rink.

For more information on toilets and facilities at the Queen’s House visit facilities and access.

Bags and personal belongings

Bags of any description are not permitted on the ice, so we advise only bringing essentials with you.

Please do not bring large baggage, as there will not be space to store it securely.

Limited storage will be available at the rink, subject to availability on the day.

It costs £2 per item and is payable by card. Cash cannot be accepted.

The weather

The rink is outdoors – come prepared to enjoy your skating in the open air, whatever the British weather throws at us! Rain, hail or snow, your skating session is unlikely to be cancelled.

We suggest bringing gloves and at least a spare pair of socks – the surface of the rink could be wet if you fall over, so if this is highly likely, maybe a spare pair of trousers would be a good idea too!

Outdoor ice rinks are subject to the elements. Due to rain, unseasonably warm weather, high winds or a combination of these weather conditions, the surface of the ice rink can develop a layer of water. It is safe to skate on a wet rink.

We regret that no refunds or date transfers will be offered due to bad weather.

Food and drink

Warm up with hot drinks and seasonal fare at the Benugo café, which is located inside the skate exchange, next to the ice rink. The café opens daily (except Christmas Day when the rink is closed) from 11am (23 November – 21 December) and from 10am (22 December – 7 January). It is not possible to reserve space in the café or preorder food and drink. The café will close at 8.15pm daily.

The daytime menu will be available daily until 5pm.

The evening menu will be available from 5pm on weekdays during term time (23 Nov-21 Dec) and from 11am until 8.15pm on weekends and school holidays (22 Dec-7 Jan).
