A note to readers that the Quiet Study Area of the Caird Library will be closed for an event from 16:45 on Thursday 22 August. The Group Study Area will remain open as normal (for Thursdays) until 19:45. What's the event, then? 'Hidden Treasures : Prints and Drawings and the National Maritime Museum' Melanie Vandenbrouck, NMM Curator of Art post-1800: With around 70,000 items, the Museum’s collection of prints and drawings is one of the largest in the UK, attracting visitors from around the world. Melanie will be showing a selection of some fine, quirky, documentary, moving or simply beautiful works on paper, relating to travel, empire, naval and maritime art and history. The talks are free to attend but must be booked in advance. They will run at the following times: 17:00 – 17:40 18:00 – 18:40 19:00 – 19:40  Sound interesting?
