In this talk, speaker Selena Carty will explore the impacts made by four phenomenal Black women: Mary Church Terrell, Ida B. Wells, Addie Hunton and Amy Ashwood Garvey, who was behind the creation of several Black organisations here in the UK.

These women's voices have travelled worldwide and have made significant contributions to the changes we have seen in the United Kingdom. We will be focusing in particular on the impacts they made after the American Civil War, World Wars I & II, and Windrush.

Discover how their journeys interlink and how their actions are still impactful so many years later.
