This series comprises orders (FFX/2/1) and other official reports, minutes and courts martial proceedings (FFX/2/2) received by Captain Fairfax in the period 1689-1710. Many are from Sir Cloudsley Shovell, relating to preparations for the abandoned invasion of France in the summer of 1706. Also included are several orders from Sir Thomas Dilkes, mentioning the raising of the siege of Barcelona and the blockade of the French coast in the summer of 1706.
