This series features correspondence between Fairfax and the various offices of the Admiralty, as well as a series of memorials. The majority of Admiralty correspondence concerns the award, of or delays in the award of, half pay (FFX/3/1) or disputes over prize money, 1704-1725 (FFX/3/2). The memorials and petitions were written to Queen Anne and other persons of influence, pleading that he be awarded half pay in lieu of his promotion to vice admiral being revoked, leaving Fairfax effectively unemployed (1708) (FFX/3/3).
