Volume containing logs kept by Thomas Young Greet as a midshipman on the Pacific station, between March 1870 and December 1871.

They cover his service on the sloop HMS FAWN (1856), under Commander Herbert P. Knevitt, between 29 March 1870 and 21 August 1870; the corvette HMS CHARYBDIS (1859), under Captain Algernon M. Lyons, between 22 August 1870 and 28 November 1870; the sloop HMS CAMELEON (1860), under Commander Josiah H. Hatchard, between 29 November 1870 and 15 December 1870; then HMS ZEALOUS (1864), flagship of Rear-Admiral Arthur Farquhar, between 16 December 1870 and 2 December 1871.

Included are track charts, particulars of warships, a photograph showing the CHARYBDIS under refit, and a fold-out plan of the holds of the ZEALOUS.
