Scot the Collie dog in a wooden tub on board the Raglan Castle (1897)
A photograph of 'Lamps' (one of the crew) standing next to Scot, Captain B. A. Bryan's Collie dog, on the upper deck of the passenger/cargo liner Raglan Castle (1897). The dog is standing in a wooden tub. This is the fourth of six photographs in a sequence of Scot being scrubbed and washed. However, as 'Lamps' still has his jacket on and Scot is still fluffy, the photograph is likely to have originally been the second in the sequence before the dog was washed.

The Raglan Castle had left London on 12 April 1899 via Southampton, Madeira, Grand Canary for Cape Town and Algoa Bay, South Africa with cargo, passengers and mail.
