The dog is standing (patiently) in a wooden tub. This is the sixth of six photographs in a sequence of Scot being scrubbed and washed.

The Raglan Castle had left London on 12 April 1899 via Southampton, Madeira, Grand Canary for Cape Town and Algoa Bay, South Africa with cargo, passengers and mail.
