Six South Asian men with a corpse awaiting cremation

A black and white landscape photograph of six South Asian men standing around an unlit funeral pyre. All the men are wearing turbans and loose-fitting shirts; one wears sandals but most are barefoot. The feet of a deceased person can been seen protruding from the pyre, which is made of logs held in place by stakes. More logs are piled on the floor in the foreground. A European-style lampost can be seen behind then and a high wall is visible in the the background. Original caption (within the photograph): 'Burning the dead' .
