On the top: an aerial view of a landscape with clouds; the elements of the landscape are faintly outlined and the colours are written directly on the elements. On the top left drawing these notes read as “blue”, “bright white”, “soft green”, “lighter than the blue” and “blue”, “grey cloud”, “melting with the grey”. On the bottom there is a detailed sketch on a landscape that appears to be overshadowed by clouds overhead. In the bottom right corner there is a detailed sketch of a clump of grass, annotated as “1. green, 2. Dead stuff, 3. Bramble”
The page is dated 1st August. It is signed “m” in the bottom right corner.
Condition: The sketch is visibly covered with a fixative liquid which has yellowed over time; it also has foxing, especially on the right-hand side, on the bottom and in the centre.
