Yacht race off Noris Castle Isle of Wight 1804
No. 11 of 30 (PAH3772 - PAH3801)
Norris Castle, suggested above the line of yachts was built in 1790 to the designs of James Wyatt. It stands on the site of East Cowes Castle on the north east point of East Cowes. It is possible that Schetky drew this while at sea, probably on board a yacht, possibly during a ‘sketching cruize’ with his students.
The drawing is inscribed in the lower centre 'Yacht race off Norris Castle-/Isle of Wight/1804'.
