Stoney Steps, Gosport, 1813

Stoney Steps, on the Gosport side of the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour, are just visible on the left hand side of the drawing. They provided access to the shore and made embarkation into small craft easier at high tide.

The drawing is inscribed in the upper right 'Stoney Steps – Gosport/1813'.
