A head and shoulders portrait photograph of a Maori man in traditional patterned kaitaka with its broad white edge pinned together at his right shoulder. The right earring has been hand tinted green, as has the pendant broach on the kaitaka. In ALB0373.40 the reverse of the carte de visit describes him as 'Moses. Chief of Waikato' and is a full length portrait of him.
The photographer was C.F. Holmes, Queen Street, Auckland, New Zealand.
