Proposed two-man submersible (circa 1882)

Sheet 2 of a set of five drawings illustrating a design proposal for a two-man submersible submitted to the Admiralty by a Mr. George Gerrey of Newhaven in January 1882.

Graduated bar scale. A plan showing two outboard profiles of the craft; the first illustrating it in a surfaced condition, and the second showing it submerged. Markings have been added at a later date in pencil to the second profile in an attempt to give the craft the appearance of a giant fish.

The plan is signed by the designer and dated 11 January 1882.
