Each chapter contains a short overview of the collection, when and by whom it was formed, then detailed descriptions of each model, with dimensions and condition reports. Chapter 1 has several lists of the models based on existing lists, with a 'Final list' by Anderson, and then more detailed descriptions of each of the 15 models at Cuckfield. Chapter 2 is only concerned with English models in the St. Petersburg museum. In Chapter 8, Anderson's 37 models are listed in order of acquisition, but the manuscript ends at the description of No.1, 'English 3-decker of about 1670'. There are rough notes in pencil (mostly about photographs) throughout.
