Journal of the Clare Sailing Boat Club.

Journal of the Clare Sailing Boat Club by R.C. Anderson, from 1905 to 1913, while he was president an G.C. Longstaff secretary. At the general meeting on 1 December 1905, they switched roles for the next term. Most of the journal concerns the daily upkeep of the boats, and accounts of various voyages. There are drawings of the EARWIG, a sailing canoe, showing different rig options, near the beginning of the volume. Further plans of the EARWIG and plans of the BEE, GRASSHOPPER, MOTH and BUTTERFLY are pasted in at relevant points, along with plans of routes taken on various cruises. In 1907 Anderson and Longstaff cruised around the Wenern in the EARWIG and BEE, covering 259 miles in 26 days. Further voyages include: the GRASSHOPPER and WOODLOUSE along the South coast of England (1907); the MOTH from Christiania to Stockholm (1908); the GRASSHOPPER and BUTTERFLY from Stockholm to St. Petersburg (1909).
