The Fairfax Manuscript: a collection of historical notes (41 items in total) and transcripts and a few broadsides, relating to Saxon times onwards, mainly written and compiled in 17th century including 'the true confession of three murders of Thomas Thinees 1682'; 'A discourse of daemonology' describing the bewitchment of his two daughters in 1621 written by Edward Fairfax written in 1631; Sir Thomas Fairfax during the Civil Wars, Sir Walter Raleigh's account of his expedition in 1617, 'A continuation of all the battles fought in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland with all the sea fights' 1588 - 1675; a 'catalogue of such noble man, Lords and gentlemen of name as came to this land with William the Conqueror' with notes added by J. Shepherd and a version of Sir Henry Mainwaring's Seaman's Dictionary.
