"Unveiling of the Titanic Memorial" programme

The programme details the order of proceedings and form of service for the twenty two Belfast men who lost their lives in the TITANIC disaster. It includes a photograph of the memorial and lists all the men. A newspaper excerpt featuring a poem is taped to the inside of the front cover.

Administrative / biographical background
The ceremony took place on 26 June 1920, in Belfast. The memorial statue was funded by contributions from the public, shipyard workers and victims' families. The statue depicts a female, representing death or fate, holding a wreath over the head of a drowned sailor, who is raised above the sea by two mermaids.
