A sketch of the vessel in port-broadside view, annotated with notes. At the top of the page are unfinished part drawings of the ship's bow and an unidentifiable other part.

Inscribed: below, "H.M. Str Black Eagle March 15th 1844"; and, on the left below: "XXX place the Masts here and the Paddle Boxes Funnels &c the same distance from the Main Mast as they now are - white water-lines". Inscription: (along the left side of page) "Height of the Victoria and Alberts Paddle Boxes above the Rail - 12-4".
