'Bentinck' P&O Steam Company (with notes)

'Bentinck' is shown in starboard-broadside view in a calm sea, with no sails hoisted and her engines seemingly turned off (judging by a lack of smoke from the two funnels). Inscribed below: "Bentinck P&O St Co"; and at top left: "1 Fore topmt Backstay | 1 F topgt Do [ditto] | 1 Royal | Varnished Masts black Mast Heads | One mizen crosstree | 2 Main Do [ditto] | Fore Top | Fore Trysail mast".

Above the main drawing, and to the right of the inscription, are some smaller and less-finished pencil sketches of discreet parts of the ship. From left to right, these show: part of the sail plan (faintly); a ventilation pipe (?); the P&O house flag (with colour notes), and the stern decoration above the rudder.
