A coast scene with a castle, probably Scotland
No. 58 of 73 (PAI0889 - PAI0961)
If the subject of this unfinished watercolour is Scotland it dates from 1848 when Schetky went on a cruise around the coasts of the Isle of Man, Ireland and Scotland with John Henry Manners, 5th Duke of Rutland, in his schooner yacht Resolution. This resulted in the publication in 1850 of 'A Cruise in Scotch Waters', written by the Duke and illustrated with lithographs after Schetky’s watercolours. See PAI0957.
