Kigatsu, Hirado, west coast of Japan

No. 22 of 51 (PAJ2051 - PAJ2101): inscribed by the artist on the album page, 'Kigatsu - Hirado, W. coast of Japan, 9/68'. A view out from a bay, with the small coastal village of the title in the foreground. Kigatsu, and Kigatsu Ura (bay) are on the east side of Hirado island, south of modern Hirado City, looking east towards Kyushu island north of Nagasaki. The low island partly seen to the right is No-shima, the conical one beyond the end of the promontory on the left Kuro-shima: see also PAJ2073.
