Oranje; Passenger vessel

Scale: Unknown. A miniature waterline model of the Dutch passenger vessel Oranje made entirely in wood with metal fittings and painted in realistic colours. A number of fittings and features have been drawn onto the model rather than depicted in three dimensions. The hull is painted light red at the waterline, light grey above with white bulwarks. Hull features include anchors stowed at the port and starboard bows and intermittent portholes on two decks. The forecastle has a jackstaff at the bow. The foredeck has what appears to be a large hatch and two derricks. The main superstructure is arranged over five decks and the forward elevation is stepped terminating in an enclosed pilot house with open bridge wings. Superstructure features include an open promenade deck, two shelter decks, fourteen lifeboats, mast at the extreme forward end and a single funnel painted ochre with a black top.
