Korea (1939); Cargo vessel

Scale: Unknown. A miniature waterline model of the Danish cargo ship Korea (1939) made entirely in wood with metal fittings and painted in realistic colours. A number of fittings and features have been drawn onto the model rather than depicted in three dimensions. The hull is painted salmon pink, or similar, at the waterline, black above with a white strip running its entire length. Features include a forecastle with what appears to be two derricks; forward cargo deck with derrick mast and four booms; forward rectangular-shaped superstructure with two open promenade decks, main accommodation and enclosed pilot house; a well deck between the forward and midship superstructures incorporating a single large hatch and two derricks; midship superstructure accommodating four lifeboats, two derricks and single buff-coloured funnel; long aft cargo deck with three hatches served by a derrick mast mounted on a plinth-like structure; and raised stern deck.
