Devonshire (1938); Service vessel; Troopship
Scale: Unknown. A miniature waterline model of the Bibby Line troopship Devonshire (1938) made entirely in wood with metal fittings and painted in realistic colours. A number of fittings and features have been drawn onto the model rather than depicted in three dimensions. The hull is painted light red at the waterline, white above with a dark blue stripe running its entire length, and white bulwarks. Features include anchors stowed at the port and starboard bows; intermittent portholes on four decks; foremast and mainmast; two derricks forward; two promenade decks, one of which extends to the stern; a total of twenty lifeboats stowed on davits in three groups; and a single funnel, painted ochre.
