Thémis; Warship; Frigate
Scale: Unknown. A model of the French warship Thémis made in plaster with wood, metal, paper, and cotton fittings which has been realistically painted. The model depicts the vessel at 1.40pm on 21st October 1805 at the height of the Battle of Trafalgar. The model is undamaged. The ship is three masted, ship rigged with set sails. The hull is painted black with white stripes along the three gun decks with a fine red stripe below the gun ports, white on the deck, and black on the deck fittings. There is a French tricolour flying from the peak of the gaff and a pennant flying from the top of the foremast. On a paper label: "58".
