Various newspaper cuttings from 'The Times' and 'The Pioneer', including some mounted on card, 1846-1887. They relate to Dobbie’s promotions, his service on HMS ROSE (1821) and HMS BUZZARD (1849), and the loss of the brig HMS WOLVERINE (1836) on Courtown Bank off Nicaragua. There is also a notice relating to his son Lieutenant Wallace Houston Dobbie of the 26th Madras Infantry.
