The file contains 13 letters from the crew men of various vessels, including the THERMOPYLAE, in a variety of different hands. In addition to these, there is also a single page telegraph Xerox, a break down of captain James Ross's affairs, as of 31st July 1869, a declaration of admission to the Free Burgess and Guild Brothers of Aberdeen for John Mitchell Mason, and a newspaper cutting on merchant adventurer, Robert Gordon.
